Whether you want to really represent your branch of the console war, want to dupe a friend into thinking you bought them an Xbox Series X (while actually getting them something more than a box), or legitimately need a space to keep your drinks cool while you game, Microsoft may have a solution for you. The upcoming Xbox Mini Fridge looks very similar to the company's flagship gaming console and is an effort to cash in on the fridge meme the console was hit with when first debuted.
Microsoft has been at this for a while, but clearly saw a profit and branding opportunity along the way. It's been shipping out full size Xbox branded fridges to influencers as a joke and effort to increase the exposure of the Xbox Series X console. Now it's doing so with a fully commercial product. The Xbox Mini Fridge.
Able to hold up to 10 x 330ml cans, the Xbox Mini Fridge is said to make use of "Xbox Velocity Cooling architecture," a play on the Velocity architecture used in the Xbox Series S and X to provide quicker access to necessary game resources for faster loading and reduced pop-in. It seems likely to be a standard compressor in actuality, ,but there's green paint on the inside, so there's that.
No price has been revealed as of yet, but Microsoft promises that the Xbox Mini Fridge will be available in the Holiday 2021 season.
