Microsoft Promises "The Most Powerful Console Ever" In 2017

During his E3 keynote, Xbox chief Phil Spencer confirmed that Microsoft will release a more powerful Xbox One console next year.

Codenamed Project Scorpio, the upcoming console is a member of the Xbox One family which mean that it can play the same games as the current Xbox One and the recently announced Xbox One S.

Microsoft asserts that Project Scorpio is "the most powerful console ever created." It sports a GPU capable of driving 6 teraflops to deliver true 4K gaming and high fidelity virtual reality. Project Scorpio is definitely powerful, but we think it is too early to call it "the most powerful console ever," now that Sony's PS4 Neo and Nintendo's NX specs are yet to be revealed.

Project Scorpio will join the Xbox One family and coexist alongside Xbox One and Xbox One S. All Xbox One games and accessories are compatible with the three consoles. Project Scorpio will be released in Holiday 2017. Exact pricing and specs are yet to be revealed.
