Mighty No. 9, the spiritual successor to the classic MegaMan titles, generated a lot of good will when it showed up on Kickstarter back at the end of 2013. Since then it's development has continued at a steady pace, gradually edging towards a finished product and fans have been with it all along the way.
However a lot of them are not pleased with the latest showing of it. In the new 'Masterclass' trailer, fans have attacked the graphics, voice acting and narration, leading to a near 1:8 ratio of likes to dislikes for the platforming side-scroller's trailer.
Although there does appear to be a bit of classic band-wagon jumping here, it must be said that the game doesn't look particularly good. You could imagine it debuting on the Xbox 360 or PS3, rather than contemporary systems and modern PCs.
The narrators jokes are pretty bad too, but they're definitely better than the childish voice picked out for the protagonist, which looks set to anger people far more than endear them.
And worse yet, there's no time to change any of it. After almost three years in development, Mighty No. 9 is set to release on June 21. Fingers crossed the final product is better than the trailer.
