The original Mirror's Edge had a lot of issues, but what it did right, it did very right. The motion of the game was fantastic, it looked simply stunning - even today its corridors are arguably the best looking ever - and it arguably introduced parkour as a movement mechanic to any number of titles that have come out since.
Its music was also stellar, so it's with great excitement that we can report the original composer, Magnus Birgersson, otherwise known as Solar Fields, is making a return for the sequel.
A short sample of his work on the new game reveals that it's heavily inspired by his work on the original, blending beautiful tones and abstract sounds with some more high paced action segments that help get your pulse racing during those daring chase sequences.
With an absence of gunplay in the sequel, a soundtrack that flows with the player's movement will be as important as ever and it sounds like it's already off to a good start.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst is set for release on February 23 2016.
