Monster Hunter XX is coming to Nintendo Switch

Capcom has announced that Monster Hunter XX, the enhanced version of Monster Hunter X for the 3DS, will get a Japanese release on the Nintendo Switch. Although it hasn't made it clear whether the game is coming to the English-speaking markets too, it seems rather likely and if not, considering the Switch is region-unlocked, getting a version for super fans won't be too difficult.

For those who may have played Monster Hunter X, there are a few significant changes in this release. It brings back old monsters like the Barroth and Barrioth for additional quests, and deviants and variants of existing monsters will be increased in number, adding more variety to quests and open hunts.

The big bad monsters this time around are the massacre Demon Diablos and the Barufaruku, with Thunder Lord Astalos, Silver Ridge Gammoth, Heavenly Eye Mizutsune and Hellblade Glavenus making up the Deviant Fated Four for additional challenges.

Two new hunting styles were also introduced in XX: Brave style and Alchemy style, offering some new ways to play the game for existing and new Monster Hunters.

Those who haven't played a Monster Hunter game since 4 or even 3U will find even more to enjoy, including playable felines, back riding, new aerial attacks, new combos and weapon types, additional quests and an expanded online mode.

More information about the Switch port of Monster Hunter XX will happen this weekend at a Japanese debut event.
