Gamers who preordered Mortal Kombat had access to a single character "klassic" skin, which varied according to the authorized retailer the game was preordered from. Apparently this wasn't enough for a lot of fans who decided to buy the skins they miss for tens of dollars on eBay.
Of course a lot of the klassic skin codes sold for a few dollars, but some of them (especially those of reptile) sold for upward of $100 for the Xbox 360 skins and $60 for the PS3 skins.
Ironically, the Mortal Kombat's co-creator Ed Boon has decided to pack all seven "klassic" character skins (for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, Reptile, Ermac, Mileena, Jade, and Kitana) and three "klassic" fatalities (for Sub-Zero, Scorpion, and Reptile) into the game's first DLC.
The DLC will be sold for $4.99 (400 Microsoft Points) and will be released on June 7th, 2011.
It is worth noting that the PlayStation Network went offline just one day after Mortal Kombat release, which means that most code buyers didn't have enough time to download their expensive skins yet.
