According to the latest news from Japan, Nintendo is planning a mini- revival for some of the more popular NES games by introducing them to the GBA.
The "Famicom Mini" series, beginning on February 14, will comprise 10 re-releases of classic 8-bit games on GBA. Each will sell for an extremely ambitious 2,000 yen (about USD 18).
Obviously Nintendo will not attempt to attract customers based on value-for-money but will rather try to cash-in on the nostalgia factor, which many adult gamers may feel.
The initial wave of releases in the series will include five Nintendo first-party games and five third-party titles. The complete initial lineup is as follows:
Bomberman
Donkey Kong
Excitebike
Ice Climber
Legend of Zelda
Mappy
Pac-Man
Star Soldier
Super Mario Brothers
Xevious
Nintendo have not yet confirmed the dates and prices.
