Mario Kart 8's roster of Karts, characters and tracks are set to be heavily expanded upon in the next few months. According to a Nintendo announcement, by May next year, there will be six new characters, with many new colour options, 16 new tracks and eight new vehicle options for us to try out.
They'll be coming in two separate DLC packs, each costing just $7.99. In the first one, set for release in November, we can look forward to Link, from the Legend of Zelda games, Tanooki Mario and Cat Peach, as well as four new karts and eight new tracks, one of which will be Zelda themed.
The second pack will arrive in May and will introduce the Animal Crossing villager, Dry Bowser and Isabelle, along with more karts and tracks.
Nintendo has said that some of the new tracks will be classics from previous games, as well as some brand new ones that haven't debuted before.
One of the new karts is said to be the Blue Falcon Kart from the F-Zero games, but as for the others we'll just have to wait and see.
Both packs can be pre-ordered now. If you do, you'll get eight new colour options for Yoshi and Shy Guy.
