Koei Tecmo has revealed a number of new details about its upcoming Attack on Titan game, the sequel to the original "Wings of Liberty" release. Slated for a 2018 debut, the game will feature a brand new character creation system, letting you put yourself into the world of Attack on Titan and work your way up through the scouting regiment's difficult training program to become one of the Survey Corps.
The character creation process is said to be deep and broad, letting you adjust hair color and type, facial features, body shape, clothing and tone of voice, to craft a person that's as close to your likeness - or some monstrosity if you so choose - to take on the Titans - and more than a few humans - as you see fit.
Along with the mission-based system of levels which is making a comeback with this game, where players will complete training exercises, race against their fellow scouts in vertical manoeuvring challenges, and fight titans, there will also be some interesting gameplay segments between missions, where you can relax in your favorite district. Mingle with friends and colleagues alike in the Training Facilities, Titan Research Room, and Regiment Administration Office. There you can learn more about different characters, as well as prepare for your next sortie outside the walls.
You'll also be able to discover resources and new equipment hidden around the city, as well as improve your abilities in various exercises that can only be experienced outside the usual missions. There are even side-quests to take from various high-ranking officers, which will raise your stature in the Survey Corp and provide you with much-needed items and experience for the fights to come.
Attack on Titan 2 is currently slated for a March 2018 release on Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch and Windows PCs.
