We already know that the Nintendo NX will launch sometime in March 2017, but today a minor oversight on Nintendo’s Amiibo website might have inadvertently pinpointed the console’s exact release date.
When viewing an Amiibo details on Nintendo’s website, a small section at the end of the page shows a random selection of Amiibo figurines. The sharp eyes of one Redditor noticed that some of the figurines listed in the random section are from the NX’s launch title The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
The 3 figures from the upcoming Zelda game, Link (Archer), Link (Rider) and Guardian are all scheduled for release on March 4th, 2017.
So far, Amiibo figurines have always been released on the same day as the games they belong to or later but never before. Nintendo has already confirmed that Breath of the Wild is a Nintendo NX launch title, so it is reasonable to expect the console, the game and the Amiibo to launch simultaneously.
Nintendo’s website has since been updated to list the figurines’ release date as "2017."
