Nintendo Japan has issued a warning that the Stereoscopic 3D effect of its upcoming 3DS handheld might cause damage to the eyes of kids under six years old.
According to the warning, written in Japanese, children under six years old shouldn't watch stereoscopic 3D content since their vision is still developing. Sony has a similar warning in the Terms of Service of its 3D gaming technology, with the addition of instructing parents to have their kids' eyes checked by a doctor before every stereoscopic 3D play session.
Nintendo's 3DS will include a parental lock which can be used by parents to disable all stereoscopic 3D functionality of the handheld.
