No Man's Sky release date pushed to August 12

One of the most hotly anticipated games of the past few years is going to release in just a few weeks' time, but No Man's Sky has been pushed a little bit back. Initially planned for an August 10 launch, we're now getting it on PC on August 12.

No Man's Sky has been in development at indie game studio Hello Games for around four years, though the concept was in the mind of the company's founder since the late '80s. So the fact that it's almost released now means we're approaching a momentous day.

PlayStation 4 owners will find their promised day comes a little sooner, with the game launching on August 10 on PS4 in Europe, but the rest of the world and PC gamers will get their first taste a couple of days later.

No Man's Sky features a near infinite universe of procedurally generated planets for players to explore, build on and fight in, with worlds, moons, species and peoples to discover throughout its vast expanse.
