Images of product packaging for Nvidia's rumored upcoming GTX 1660 Ti, and the card itself, have leaked online giving us near-concrete evidence of the new range of mid-range GTX GPUs. The images are from a couple of online retailers who appear to have jumped the gun on the release, which is slated by some to be as soon as February 15.
Nvidia's GTX 16-series is most likely to be a Turing range of graphics cards that sits below the RTX 2060 on the performance spectrum. They are expected to lack the RT cores that make ray tracing possible, but may retain the AI-driven Tensor cores which allow for the performance and visual-enhancing DLSS feature.
The 1660 Ti is thought to be the most powerful of the bunch, with a rumored price tag of $280. It will be followed further down the range by the GTX 1660 and the GTX 1650, allegedly.
We now have shots of the 1660 Ti at least, with EVGA., Galax, and Palet examples of the cards and the packaging. Curiously, these new designs ditch the multi-fan cooling systems of Nvidia's RTX range of cards and offer instead a single 90mm blower fan over a large aluminum heatsink. The packaging confirms that these cards will ship out with 6GB of GDDR6, like the RTX 2060, which means we'll likely see the reduction in performance come from weaker clock speeds and/or a reduction in CUDA cores.
Connectors on the back include DVI-D, HDMI, and DisplayPort, with a notable absence of a USB-C VirtualLink connector for single-cable virtual reality headset connectors.
