Hardware experts discovered that Nvidia's new Hybrid SLI technology doesn't support resolutions higher than 1920*1200 at 60 Hz.
To use Hybrid SLI, the monitor must be connected to the motherboard GPU. Current implementation of Hybrid SLI motherboards utilizes a single link DVI connector which have a maximum output of 1920*1200 at 60 Hz.
When asked, Drew Henry, the General Manager of Nvidia's MCP business, admitted that Hybrid SLI still needs a lot of development work and that the current generation of the technology is being released because they need the users feedback. He also implied that Hybrid SLI may need 24 more months to be finalized.
