In its fiscal fourth quarter earnings statement, Microsoft revealed that it has shipped 1 million Xbox 360 consoles in the three months ending June 2013.
For comparison, only 100,000 Xbox 360 units were sold during the same period last year. The company also noted that this strong Xbox 360 sales momentum isn’t slowing down despite the fact that Xbox One is a few months away from launch.
Overall revenues for Microsoft's Entertainment and Devices Division have increased by 8% from last year’s $1.8 billion to $1.9 billion this year. Nonetheless, the division reported operational loss of $110 million during the quarter, an improvement over the previous quarter’s $252 million loss.
