Lucas Pope's border crossing management sim, Paper's Please, is getting a short film adaptation by Russian Youtuber's Nikita and Liliya Ordynskiy. While it's not going to be some grand production, it is looking very faithful to the original game in the first production screenshots that have been released and that bodes well for its eventual release.

The production shots were put up on Twitter by Pope himself, who appears to be keeping a relatively close eye on the film's development. In the shots we see the person who will presumably be playing the typical protagonist in the game, as well as his stamps, desk and office setting. Of course, there is also plenty of wall space for his sufficient commendation and an Arstotska banner to celebrate the glorious nation and its sturdy borders.
It's not clear at this time where or how the film will be distributed, but it's possible that it will be available on Youtube at least at some point in the future.
Perhaps going the short, indie route will break the gaming movie curse. Has there ever been a faithful adaptation into a decent film?
