Armin Ibrisagic struck surprising gold when he designed and helped release Goat Simulator as part of Coffee Stain Studios, but he doesn't want to ride that wave of success on to a sequel or other games in the same universe. Instead, he wants to keep making weird and silly games and to make that a reality, he's partnered with Pewdiepie to make a game called Animal Super Squad and it's set to hit Steam in the next 48 hours.
Although not a game designer by any means, let's player and Youtuber, Pewdiepie, did help popularize Goat Simulator through his videos and has a core understanding of what makes a fun game to stream. He helped develop the core design of Animal Super Squad and provided creative feedback and playtesting during its creation.
What did they create through all of their efforts? A game about a chicken riding a toilet through bizarrely designed levels. It's a physics driven experience that blends the likes of Happy Wheels with Trials with some of the zaney physics of Goat Simulator thrown in for good measure.
"I was part of a team that caught a very big fish once," Ibrisagic told "Kotaku when asked about his reasons for making the game. "Yeah it would be cool to catch a big fish again, but mostly, I just really like fishing."
That's certainly what he did with the creation of Animal Super Squad. With its repetitive, quick, highly-colorful gameplay and built in level editor, it's sure to see success on the streaming scene, which in turn, these days, means success in sales too.
Animal Super Squad will hit Steam Early Access on November 2.
