The most talked about revelation during yesterday’s Spike VGA ceremony was not Dark Souls II, it was the trailer of an obscure game called "Phantom Pain" that is under development at an unknown Swedish developer called "Moby Dick Studio."
The reason why the Phantom Pain’s trailer caught that much attention is quite simple in deed: we believe that it might actually be Metal Gear Solid 5 in disguise.
The first clue that gave the truth away was the presumed Moby Dick Studio’s CEO name: Joakim Mogren. Obviously, Joakim is an anagram of Kojima which is the name of the famous Metal Gear Solid designer. Less obviously, Mogren is the name of a football club in Montenegro which is where Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance will take place.
Of course this might all turn out to be over reaching, and Joakim Mogren might turn out to be a real person. However, US freelance journalist Alex Rubens noticed and tweeted that "There are people in the VIP section of the Konami party wearing Phantom Pain/Moby Dick Studio t-shirts."
"They aren’t talking about anything. And no, they aren’t Swedish," he wrote in follow up tweet.
