Using the soon to be released PSP Camera and Microphone, PSP owners will be able to make phone calls through their PSPs over wireless internet connections.
The new service will be available initially in UK and through BT hotspots only, but - according to BT - it will be available in a hundred other countries shortly after.
More details of the BT service will be released at the Leipzig Games Convention in August, whilst Sony's add-on camera and microphone for the PSP, known as the Go camera, will hit shelves in the UK on 25 May.
With PSP falling too far behind Nintendo's DS, Sony's new strategy of focusing on PSP's technical features aside from gaming seems like a risk they are forced to take.
