Just one day after Phil Harrison stated that he was pissed off at Sony Japan and Sony has announced that the man resigned.
Giving no reason for his departure, Sony noted that Harrison has been with them for two years before the launch of the original PlayStation and that he has "made a tremendous contribution to the company playing a strategic role in the launch of four PlayStation platforms."
Despite his earlier remarks, Phil Harrison stated that "the past 15 years at Sony Computer Entertainment has been the defining journey of my life so far" and that "I am so proud of everything PlayStation has achieved and will continue to support its future in every way I can."
Phil Harrison will leave his post on February 29, 2008. SCEI president and group CEO Kazuo Hirai will assume Phil's responsibilities on top of his current duties.
