Planet Coaster is an impressive, if rather limited game. If you don't like rollercoasters and don't care to design them, it isn't going to be for you. That is unless you download some of the amazing mods by roller-coaster designers like Chuck Maurice, who has recreated the battle for the Dead Star from Star Wars into a functioning roller coaster.
The loading area shows off a number of specially designed set pieces from the film, including battles between Tai Fighters and X-Wings, a jump to light speed, a fly by of the famed hangar of the moon-sized space station and even a trench run towards the end.
This is one of those rollercoasters you wish someone could build in real life, but considering its length, it seems unlikely to ever be feasible. That's why games like Project Coaster are so useful, they let us do things that just wouldn't be possible in reality.
According to the coaster's creator, the entire project took over 100 hours of personal investment, though several people did contribute to the design of some key areas. He also thanked a number of other modders for helping create models for the coaster's various backdrops and scenes.
He did say more work would be done on the coaster, if the game supported more triggers. As it stands it has too many sound effects and visual cues, so it's at a max. Others may be able to improve on the design though.
You can download the Star Wars Death Star Strike roller coaster from the Planet Coaster Steam Workshop.
