There's a rumor doing the rounds that the PlayStation Now service that nets PlayStation owners free games to play every month, may be coming to the PC. Although it's unconfirmed by anyone in an official capacity, the word is that it could land within the next couple of weeks.
PCGamesN was the first to break the report on English sites, citing French gaming site Gamekult. It reports that the service will debut for the first time as soon as August 23 and will begin in Belgium, The Netherlands and the UK, before being rolled out to the U.S. and Canada in the following week.
We're told that you'll need at least a 5Mb internet connection to be applicable and at least Windows 7. You'll also need a gamepad, preferably a PlayStation branded dualshock one.
The library of games players will have access to includes a number of big name PS3 titles like The Last of Us, Infamous, God of War: Ascension, Killzone 3 and Beyond: Two Souls.
As much as this is all exciting though, it's still very much in rumor territory, so take it with a pinch of salt for now. That said, it's exciting to see the potential for something like this. There's been a much greater cross over between Xbox Games and PC releases than there has been with PlayStation titles, so there's a number of games on that list that I'd like to try out.
