Sony's upcoming PlayStation Vita handheld has finally got a solid release date for North America and Europe.
During his keynote at the Web 2.0 summit in San Francisco, Sony Computer Entertainment of America president and CEO Jack Tretton announced officially that the system will be released in North America, Latin America and Europe on February 22nd, 2012.
The 3G-enabled version of PS Vita will retail for $299.99 in USA and €299.99 in Europe. Similarly, the Wi-Fi only version will retail for $249.99 in USA and €249.99 in Europe.
PlayStation Vita will debut in Japan on December 17th, 2011 and it will not be region-locked. According to Sony, more than 100 games are currently in active development for Vita.
