For such a popular franchise, it's surprising that there have been so few Jurassic Park simulators over the years. There was Operation Genesis in the early '00s, but that's about it. Fortunately, with the release of the next Jurassic Park movie in 2018, we're getting Jurassic World Evolution. If you can't wait that long though, kick a few dollars into and you can have a play with the limited demo right now.
What is Prehistoric Kingdom? It's a theme park simulator that has actual dinosaurs, just like the movies. You create paths, walls, enclosures, feeding troughs, and various habitats for your dinos to live in and manage the park for the visitors who eventually come to see them. Or at least you will in the final version if and when it gets its funding through the crowdsource website.
What you can play now is the demo, which comes with a vew different buildings, enclosure types and dinosaurs, all complete with their own behaviours, various skins and needs which you must see to as the owner and designer of the park.
It's clear that the game is in the early stages of development, but it still looks beautiful and you can even take a drive around it in your very own jeep that certainly isn't inspired by any copyright protected movies we've ever heard of...
Slated for an end-2018 release, Prehistoric Kingdom looks like it has a lot of potential.
