Valid or not, Windows 10 privacy concerns have prompted some torrent trackers to block its users from accessing them.
InTheShadow private torrent tracker now redirects Windows 10 users to a YouTube video called "Windows 10 is a Tool to Spy on Everything You Do;" and other sites such as FSC and BaconBits have issued statements conveying their intentions to follow suit.
"Unfortunately Microsoft decided to revoke any kind of data protection and submit whatever they can gather to not only themselves but also others. One of those is one of the largest anti-piracy company called MarkMonitor," claimed InTheShadow staff.
"Amongst other things Windows 10 sends the contents of your local disks directly to one of their servers. Obviously this goes way too far and is a serious threat to sites like ours which is why we had to take measures."
MarkMonitor is indeed one of the largest anti-piracy company, but it has also been working with Microsoft for years to protect its users from scams. Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee that the data shared with MarkMonitor won't be used to thwart p2p file sharing.
BaconBits and FSC have also issued statements explaining that they intend to start blocking Windows 10 users shortly.
Interestingly, Windows 10 privacy concerns stemmed from an EULA update which applies to Microsoft services that are accessible by all existing Windows versions.
