If you are ahead of the curve as a gamer and running a 4K display, chances are you either also have a pair of high-end GPUs powering it, or are familiar with chugging frame rates in some of the more graphically intense titles out there at the moment.
Still, even if you can put out decent numbers at that sort of resolution, what about running three of those monitors at once and a single game across all of them? That's what Project Cars will be able to do when it's released sometime in May, as it's going to support 12K right out of the box.
The game's minimum and recommended specifications aren't too hefty, with the developer suggesting that gamers have at least one of the recent generations of Intel or AMD CPUs, 8GB of RAM and a GPU that's no more than a year or two old. However for 12k you would need something far heftier. Probably at least three GPUs all roped together to create one monstrous set up.
The sad thing is, there aren't really any other games that could take advantage of a system like that, so it seems unlikely that anyone will have such a set up to take advantage of the new support.
If you do though, send us a picture of your rig and monstrous display set up. We'd love to see what it looks like.
