Monolith announced today that they have reached an agreement with Vivendi to rebrand Project Origin as F.E.A.R. 2.
F.E.A.R. was developed by Monolith and published by Vivendi in 2005. The two companies parted ways later when Warner Bros acquired Monolith. According to their legal agreements, Monolith got to keep all the tech and assets they developed while Vivendi got to keep the copyrights for the name F.E.A.R.
Under the new agreement, the new sequel will be called F.E.A.R. 2: Project Origin.
