Sony has been busy today, unveiling firmware updates for both its PS3 console and the PSP handheld. The Playstation 3 now moves onto version 1.30 but the new fix does not solve some of the more obvious issues that owners have been complaining about but the rate at which these updates are coming in suggests that we may be introduced to an upscale fix sooner rather than later.
The PS3 update now introduces support for the Blu-Ray remote, additional hardware which will soon be available, while Sony has now changed things so that games output at the highest possible resolution. Background downloads from Sony's online services are still not possible but we expect more from Sony as the holiday season approaches.
Meanwhile the PSP has also seen a new firmware version released, 3.02, but users of the device will be hard pressed to spot any changes as most of the issues addressed by the update have to do with security, another step in Sony's efforts to combat the homebrew epidemic which is ravishing the virgin soul of its PSP.
