Radeon RX 490 details leaked

Although AMD has yet to officially announce any details about its rumored, upcoming RX 490 graphics card, WCCFTech has a bunch of leaked information that could give us an early look at how powerful it is going to be.

And powerful it is. Reportedly it will be used to take on the GTX 1080 head to head, offering enough oompf to power 4K gaming systems, with a giant bus width and will feature either dual Polaris graphics chips, or a single Vega 10 - we don't know yet.

We're told that it will debut and release on the same day at some point in December - presumably closer to the start of the month.

Virtual reality will be a big focus, much like the previous RX series cards, but this one will be specifically designed to drive high-end virtual reality. Two cards should work well in tandem too, offering enough power to handle each display in a headset, so should scale much better than traditional crossfire set ups.

Price wise it's said to be around the GTX 1080, so at least $600, though it may not stray too far beyond that, as traditionally AMD has been the more cost effective solution compared to Nvidia.

For now we'll just have to hang on these rumors and hope more information arrives, but if nothing does, it sounds like we won't have long to wait for the game to release any way.
