Razer might be most well known for its relatively expensive peripherals, but that doesn't mean that it doesn't produce some great entry level options too. Take the newly released Razer Abyssus Essential. It's a $50 gaming mouse with the kind of features we would have expected from a peripheral twice that costly a few years past.
Although the Abyssus Essential is effectively a pared-down version of some of Razer's higher-end mice, it still packs some great kit under its plastic shell. Its optical sensor has a maximum sensitivity of 7,200 DPI, so it can cater to all kinds of gamers -- as no one really needs more than 7,200, even if they're playing across multiple 4K screens. However, you will need to make adjustments to that within the back-end software, as the Abyssus only has the standard three buttons. You may be able to set up a keyboard shortcut for switching DPI on the fly, but the mouse itself doesn't have that functionality.
The ambidextrous design means that this mouse works fine for both right and left-handed gamers and is capable of being used by claw, finger, or palm grip users -- although it will likely play better under the fingertips of the former two grip styles.
For those who are concerned about the look of their gaming mouse, the Abyssus is a smart looking piece of kit. It's also fully supportive of Razer's Chroma lighting system and has its own RGB LEDs inside, so the logo and underglow of the mouse will be fully programmable and compatible with all sorts of color combinations and lighting styles.
Although its list price is $50, you can actualy pick up an Abyssus on Amazon now for just $37. Grab it while the deal remains.
