This is the second time within few days that Sony denies then our expectations then -days later- admit it. We are tempted to predict that Sony will give PS3s for free.
About a month ago we reported that Sony was working on a redesigned PSP. Here is what we said (yes, we do like to brag):
The focal point of the new design is a new screen that allows PSP to be much slimmer and battery life to quadruple. The new PSP will have the same hardware but it will utilize a faster version of its UMD drive and 8GBs of internal flash memory to speed up loading and gameplay. Finally, PSP's button layout will be revamped into a more D-pad like alignment.
Well, Sony has announced that the new PSP model will be out by September. Sony has confirmed that the new model is 33 percent lighter, 19 percent slimmer, has a more efficient battery and faster loading times, but more importantly, now it features standard TV-OUT .
Sadly, neither the button layout nor the (dreaded) analogue stick changed. Sony, however, added a new Display button, used for switching to TV-OUT mode.
The new PSP model will be available in 3 colors: Piano Black, Ice Silver and Ceramic White. The Ice Silver version will be bundled in an entertainment pack alongside with a 1 GB memory stick and a UMD video disc of Family Guy, all for $200.
A Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron pack will be available too. This pack will include a copy of the exclusive Star Wars Battlefront: Renegade Squadron game and a specially designed white PSP emblazoned with the head of Darth Vader on its back, again for $200.
