It's not the PS2 version of Resident Evil. But it WILL make you spill your guts.
Konami and Metal Gear aren't the only properties on display at the Tokyo International Film Festival. Capcom's Resident Evil is also being shown in CG form through a 22 minute work dubbed Resident Evil 4D Executioner (or Biohazard 4D Executioner). As shown in the high res screens below, the computer generated zombies depicted in the film display never-before-seen levels of nasty, and while we don't expect a PS2 edition of the series to come close to this, we're certainly excited about the future of survival horror.
The CG was produced by Visual Science Laboratory under the direction of Kouichi Oohata. Mr. Oohata was born in 1962 and has worked on the character designs and planning for anime. He made his anime directoral debut in 1989 with Cybernetics Guardian, and has also worked on MD Geist, Genocyber and Blue Gender. Biohazard 4D Executioner is his first go at directing a full CG movie.
Biohazard 4D Executioner will be used as the visual part of a amusement park motion ride being released and developed by Capcom, Flagship and Digital Amuse. The 17 minute 30 second ride (we presume the CG will have to be cut down a bit) will debut on October 27th at Midnight in Japan.
