Resident Evil VII is great! At least according to just about everyone. It features enough classic gameplay with a few modern twists to keep die hard fans happy and combines that with stunning visuals and a persistently creepy atmosphere to really scratch that horror/action itch that gamers often find themselves with.
That doesn't mean the game was perfect though. Some didn't think that the game featured enough puzzles - fortunately, that's exactly what Capcom has delivered with its first batch of DLC for the game.
Called the Banned Footage DLC, this update puts you in the shoes of Clancy, a previous victim of the Baker family. You awake to find yourself tied to a bed in the Baker's bedroom, where Maugerite comes and goes, taunting you and bringing you bizarre and gross items. It's your job to escape the room without her noticing. That means getting up and out of bed, finding items to help your escape. But you'll need to put it all back when Maugerite comes knocking.
The other game mode that comes with the DLC is Nightmare, which is less about puzzles and more about combat. In it you'll face waves of enemies, with the goal being to survive until morning. It's very difficult on higher levels and waves, though not as much as the Ethan Must Die mode, which also comes with this DLC release.
That gives you a new way to play the main plot of the game. If you thought Madhouse was too easy, this one takes things to a whole new level.
You can buy this DLC with the Resident Evil VII season pass, which will feature one more big content release in the near future.
