Capcom has officially announced a pair of new Resident Evil titles for Wii: Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition and later Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.
Capcom has confirmed a summer release for Resident Evil 4 Wii Edition, which will incorporate new Wii specific controls on top of the traditional action mechanics featured in the original game. Players will be able to use the WiiMote to "aim, fire, slash and avoid oncoming adversaries with intuitive motions and movements."
RE4:Wii will include the additional content included with the previously released PlayStation 2 version, but no new content is announced.
While details about Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles are still vague, we know that it will feature "first-person, light-gun style combat" and that the player will advance automatically on rails while shooting zombies.
Umbrella Chronicles will revolve around the fall of Umbrella Corporation, and will include locations lifted from past games in the series as well as new areas such as Umbrella's stronghold.
