Rare replay is the first bit of good will that's sallied forth from the long-standing developer in many years. Thanks to Microsoft's push for it to focus on Kinect titles, it's been a long time since Rare released a game that really struck a chord with people, but this one has.
A collection of 30 of the developer's most classic games, including the likes of Banjo Kazooie, Perfect Dark Zero, Battleroads, Viva Pinata and much more, there's also stickers to collect, short documentaries on unreleased games and a metagame to top it all off.
Although the games themselves were all reviewed long ago, reviewers this time around focused on the emulation of the older titles, the presentation of the overall package and its meta experience and for the most part, everyone is a big fan.
Gamespot gave it a strong 8/10.
IGN gave it an even better 9/10.
Polygon offered an 8/10.
Shacknews agreed.
however gave it a near-perfect 9.5/10.
If only it had Goldeneye onboard, ey?
