Just when you think Nintendo may have lost it by focusing on a controller of all things in its next generation venture, along comes a figurehead of the gaming industry to muddle things further.
Peter Molyneux, Lionhead's ehm head, took a break from plugging his Fable: The Lost Chapters, Black and White 2 and The Movies efforts and became the next industry celebrity to rave about Nintendo's next-gen controller. Speaking at the European Game Convention in Leipzig, Mr. Molyneux revealed that he has actually seen one such device by Nintendo and added: There is a line at the end of the book 'Game Over' and it is: 'Never underestimate Nintendo'. That is all I can say about the controller.
Getting Peter Molyneux to hype up your controller when he is, so obviously, in bed with Microsoft may be a sign that the device does have some intriguing potential. We have however to remember that we should forget graphics cards and multi-processor setups, Nintendo has re-discovered the secret to top quality gaming and it is all based on super, powerful, 128-bit hype.
So while you wait, have a look at what various people, with way too much time on their hands, think the Revolution controller may look like.
