It's Revolution revelation day as another Nintendo only project is revealed.
Not convinced with the talk about controllers and alternative gaming? Do you believe it's all just elaborate Nintendo hype? Then consider a game created entirely in Black and White and titled Sadness...alternative enough?
Piotr Orlowski, chief developer of Polish studio Nibris, has revealed the first plans regarding the exclusive Revolution title:
Exclusive Nintendo Revolution title "Sadness" will be fully... black and white!
Nibris decided to follow Nintendo's path, which definitely fights the stagnation which has occurred in video games, and creates new trends. "With this move, we want to create a unique environment, which is only available in Sadness," says Lukasz "CassSept" Oskard, a Nibris employee. But Nibris are not following the trend created though Sin City, but rather a game which is set pre-World War. More information on Sadness will be available soon.
The information revealed suggests that Nintendo means to make Revolution accessible to all sorts of developers allowing for some fresh perspective to enter its next-generation console world. The idea of a pre-world war game titled Sadness coupled with the image to your right makes for an intriguing prologue to a game although it is certain that some gamers will have their objections over the black & white decision.
It seems Nintendo will dare to challenge current gaming formulas, it's about time someone did, although you can be sure that as many ideas are bound to succeed even more are destined to fail.
Stay with MegaGames for further Sadness from E3 2006.
