A bunch of new screenshots for the survival horror game with Oculus Rift support, The Forest, have been released, giving us a much better look at the white bodied creatures/people that form the main enemy and danger in the game.
We also get a look at the environment though, showing us that there is a coastline to this "forest," and that sometimes dead sharks wash up on the beaches. And there's a boat, but whether you can survive the short swim to it is anyone's guess.
The Forest pits you against the elements and some mysterious locals, as you loot, hunt and build during the day and try to survive at night. It reminds me a lot of Don't Starve, though with an obvious change in art direction. The building element looks very similar to Rust too, in that you put together a blueprint of something and then it hovers around in-front of you until you place it.
While surviving, you'll need to take into consideration things like food, water, heat, but building a fire will always have the drawback of bringing unwanted attention your way. Those white enemies are cave dwellers, as one of the screenshots shows, hanging from the ceiling like creepy bat-men.
Of course they do venture out though, presumably to hunt you, but also it seems to mourn their loved ones, as we see in one of the latter screenshots.
The Forest is set to arrive on PC later this year, with Oculus Rift support, making me and a bunch of other Devkit owners very excited.

Anyone else looking forward to this?
