Amidst the world's continuing, growing disdain for loot boxes, a number of developers have been forced to remove them entirely from their games, while others have made serious modifications to them. Psyonix, developer of hit competitive sports title, Rocket League, has taken a different route. It's followed the China principle, by releasing the odds for each of its in-game loot boxes.
Ever wondered what your chances are of unlocking that black market cosmetic item? Now you can find out, thanks to this Reddit post.
The odds for each of the game's loot boxes are as follows:
- Rare - 55 percent.
- Very Rare - 28 percent.
- Import - 12 percent.
- Exotic - four percent.
- Black Market - one percent.
The way it works, is when you "open" a loot box, the game randomly picks from the above options based on the prescribed odds. When chosen, it then randomly picks an item from within that rarity band and then randomly picks again -- with a 25 percent change -- whether it's a Painted or Certified part.
