Feral Interactive announced that it will be bringing ROME: Total War to iPad.
Rome: Total War was first released on Windows PC in 2004 and on Mac in 2010. It is one of the most highly-praised strategy game of all time. The game – and the entire Total War series actually – is known for its huge scale. It takes place during the early Roman Empire days where players get to conquer Europe, North Africa and the Near East in a series of real-time tactical battles framed within a turn-based strategic campaign. On the large strategic scale, players spend each turn managing diplomacy, developing infrastructure, moving armies, and managing the population's growth and public order through taxes and gladiatorial games, among other tasks. On the smaller scale, real-time battles against enemy armies take place within or between cities, with the player commanding forces that can contain thousands of individual soldiers.
And the iPad version comes without compromise: players will get access to the entire campaign, complete with all 11 factions. The game also features upgraded graphics that look nicer than the PC version while allowing thousands of on-screen units to duke it out in enormous 3D tactical battles.
ROME: Total War will be playable on first generation iPad Air and iPad mini 2 models or better. The ROME: Total War – Barbarian Invasion and ROME: Total War – Alexander expansion packs will also be released separately in the future.
