If you've spent a lot of time over the past week 'playing' Cookie Clicker because it finally left its two year beta period for version 2.0, then get ready to do so again later this year, as Jagex, the company behind Runescape, has announced that it's teaming up with the guys that made similar title, AdVenture Capitalist, to produce a version for Runecape.
Set to be called: Runescape: Idle Adventures, the game will no doubt feature clicking and upgrade buying, in order to click more and upgrade more. You know the drill, it's the game of numbers that get ever bigger and ever more out of reach. Like Stan's dad playing Heroin Hero.
"It's an addictive, quick-to-play RPG boiled down to the basics of levelling and looting. In a typical session, you'll spend a few minutes making choices for your customisable hero, then leave him or her to train, fight and quest in real time," the developer said, via Kotaku.
It's exactly right too. Games like this are what are under the hood of every game you ever play, with just some added layers for graphics, strategy and finesse on top. It's all just number crunching under the hood.
