Samsung Adds Steam Link Support To Its Smart TVs

Valve announced today that its Steam Link PC game streaming tool will be integrated in new Samsung televisions.

Steam Link allows gamers to stream their Steam to other devices connected to their local network. Without Steam Link, users who wished to game on their big screens had to physically connect their PCs to their TVs using relatively short HDMI cables.

Last year, Samsung announced that some of its smart TVs would have direct access to Sony's PlayStation Now game streaming service. With today's announcement, it looks like Samsung smart TV owners will be able to both PlayStation and Steam games on their TVs. Of course you'd still need a PS 4 or a gaming PC in order to actually run the games that are being steamed to the TV.

If you don't have a Samsung smart TV with native support for Steam Link, you can still use the game streaming tool using a $49 adapter that can be plugged into any modern TV.
