Shadow of War isn't set to arrive until 25th August later this year, but that doesn't mean we're not getting increasingly hyped for the exciting sequel to the original Shadow of Mordor. In this latest gameplay reveal, we get a look at the siege of Minas Ithil, Gondor's last line of defence against the forces of Mordor and man's last stronghold within the embattled province.
In it we're shown a little of the nemesis system and its expansion, the back and forth flow of battle, the way you can team up with Gondorian allies to fight together, new weapon types and most importantly, the much more varied landscape afforded by a city under siege, rather than just the open realm of Mordor and the various orcish strongholds there.
It's worth bearing in mind that this trailer is part of the game's alpha, so the weird run animation, the lack of character shadows and some of the slightly-off lighting choices, aren't indicative of the final product. This isn't looking like it will become a Mass Effect Andromeda 2.
Indeed the game is shaping up to be a really neatly advanced version of the original game, with new features, new areas to explore and an expanded version of the gameplay in the original that was so praised.
