Electronic Arts announced plans to release this September the SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition in North America. Players can now make the biggest cities with the most comprehensive SimCity ever. SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition includes SimCity 4, the best-selling PC game of 2003 to date and the franchise's first expansion pack, SimCity 4 Rush Hour, that focuses on the No.1 most requested feature among fans, transportation. SimCity 4 Rush Hour also is scheduled for release September 2003.
SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition is jam-packed with all-new content from SimCity 4 Rush Hour and the original SimCity 4, said Lucy Bradshaw Vice President of PC Development. We are celebrating the franchise's first expansion pack by providing this incredible value for fans and gamers. SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition players will experience the thrill and excitement of their city in an entirely new way by taking direct control of planes, trains, and automobiles to drive freely or use to solve missions.
In the SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition, players can create a megalopolis by weaving together a tapestry of cities ranging from a bedroom community to a high tech urban center or a vacation destination to a farming village. Similar to the original SimCity 4, players can create a region of interconnected cities sharing and competing for resources that are linked by a fully integrated transportation network. Players will use god-like powers to create mountain ranges, carve valleys, and lay rivers to construct the most realistic metropolis imaginable. The SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition simulation engine gives players immediate feedback so they can react to the needs of an expanding metropolis. Now individual buildings and their lots provide feedback to the player. Players can personalize their Sim and immediately move him or her into any area and watch them experience life around town and get instant feedback on the city's progress. Each decision has a greater impact and gives players the ability to respond more effectively.
The highly anticipated expansion pack, SimCity 4 Rush Hour, is included in the SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition. In SimCity 4 Rush Hour, players now will have the ultimate level of control over their city's transportation network by completely taking charge of roads, rail, air, waterways, and even vehicles.
Players will be presented with U-Drive It! missions to solve, such as chasing down a bank robber or apprehending a car-jacker. If missions are completed successfully, players will earn reward buildings and other vehicles. As players gain traction by fixing problems and accomplishing missions, their mayor approval rating will soar and Sims will flock to their city. Players will choose from all-new road types including wide-avenues, suspension bridges, or one-way streets, as well as map out seamless regional networks that whisk Sims from one city to another. Additional options include going global to create a metropolis based on an all-new modern European building set or personalizing new creations by labeling streets, mountains, neighborhoods, and points of interest. Players can also wreak havoc with all-new disasters including a UFO invasion, massive wrecks at railroad crossings, and the occasional car fender bender.
SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition also will include new tutorials to help new players get started and all-new gameplay levels, so players of any skill can create the city of their dreams. SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition is a robust and content-filled compilation that allows players to build the ultimate living, breathing megalopolis.
The SimCity 4 Deluxe Edition will be available for a suggested retail price of USD 39.99.
