Taking a leaf out of its Battlefield premium pack system, EA games and Maxis have introduced premium membership packages to the upcoming The Sims 4. While we weren't supposed to know just yet, the "feature" was inadvertently revealed in a 20 minute gameplay demo.
A few minutes in to the stream, The Sims 4's new build mode gallery offered an advert for the premium packs, saying ""Save on new packs with early access and exclusive items," suggesting that those that purchase the season pass style upgrade, will get discounts on their Sims expansions and DLC packs.
Of course chances are one of those packs will be the swimming pools and toddlers which we learned last week would not be present in the upcoming game.
It looks like those signed up will also get early access to the downloadable content as well as discounts on it, as the promo text for the membership reads: "Become a Premium member to get early access to three new packs, with exclusive items. Your Sims can throw a spooky costume party, camp in the great outdoors, and toast to the new year in style."
Considering the history of expansions and extra content that The Sims has, do you guys think this will be a popular membership package?
