A couple of weeks ago Bethesda crucified Sony for refusing to allow "user mods the way they should work" on PlayStation 4. The company made a strong public statement announcing that it won't enable mod support for Skyrim and Fallout 4 on PlayStation 4 unless Sony allows users to have the freedom to do "anything they want" with it.
With an unexplained tone-reversal, Bethesda announced today that Skyrim and Fallout 4 are getting limited mod support on PlayStation 4.
It is likely that Bethesda's public statement was meant to hardball Sony into accepting its vision for complete mod support. Unfortunately, it seems that this attempt has failed as mod support on PS4 comes with one vital limitation: users are not allowed to upload external assets. Instead, they are only allowed to use existing models and content in new ways.
Mod support will come to Skyrim first then to Fallout 4.
