Evil Dead 2's horror-inspired comedy is coming to the papercraft cuteness of Phantom Halls, in a new crossover update called Evil Dead 2 x Phantom Halls. It expands on the original game's inclusion of Evil Dead protagonist, Ash Williams, and charges him and his fellow teens from taking on the horrors of the Deadites and more, as they try to survive the night.
Phantom Halls has been offering cutesy and silly horror gameplay since it entered Steam Early Access in March this year. It even came complete with Ash as a playable character back then. For Evil Dead's part in this, it's been crossing over with other horror franchises for a while, in a variety of mediums. The Ash vs. Evil Dead comic even joined up with Marvel Zombies at one point, having Ash bring his own brand of boomstick survival skills to bear on the undead superheroes of that universe.
With Phantom Halls though, he'll be slaying papercraft zombies, bats, rats and all manner of undead beasts. There may or may not be a rather grabby tree to watch out for too.
Although the game is still procedurally generated, making sure that each playthrough is different from the last, this expansion will add Ash's classic cabin in the woods setting, so that you can investigate the basement yourself. Or more likely, not. It'll swallow your soul.
You can pick up Phantom Halls now, at 50 percent off on Steam, with the Evil Dead 2 vs. expansion added for free.
