Super Smash Bros already landed on the 3DS in the EU and NA earlier this month, to strong reviews across almost all publications, but it's the Wii U release that we're all really waiting for. It's not due out until next month in the US, but it's bringing with it a whole load of new features.
The most exciting one is the fact that you will be able to play up to eight player local battles, on four especially designed maps. This won't be doable online, which seems a shame, but the frantic local battles you could have with eight separate brawlers will be very exciting.
On top of that, we also learned about new single player and cooperative modes, like classic mode, which has you battling through increasingly difficult enemies, though how you win will often determine who you fight next. There's also plenty of challenges for you to complete to learn those near endless trophies from past games.
There's even a built in Mario Party-like mode called Smash Tour, which has players moving around a board, collecting powerups and fighting one another, eventually culminating in one final battle where you use all of the characters you've collected throughout the game.
As with previous versions of Smash Bros, you'll get a chance to play with all of the rules in Special Smash, making everyone tiny, metal, fast, slow, big, or whatever kind of game you want to play.
There will also be returning modes like Coin Battle and Stamina mode, which has you whittling down your opponents HP, rather than just trying to increase their per centage.
There were a lot of details released by Nintendo in the past couple of days, so make sure to watch the video above if you want to catch all of them.
