It's happened again. There's a new darling game of streamers on YouTube, Twitch, and everywhere else, but this one isn't about shooting down enemies or grinding for loot: it's about driving a bus. An ever-growing bus that will eventually stop you in your tracks as you elongate to the point of paralysis in a number of real-world and fantastical locations.
Snakeybus is Snake, or at least a modern reimaginging of it. You drive around cities and more exotic locales, picking up passengers which extend the length of your bus. You'll need to maintain tight corners to avoid your own tail as you pick up and deliver your charges, heading towards an eventual destination that never ends. You can play in third and first person, there's a minimap to keep you from running into yourself too quickly, and there's a bunch of ramps you can use to angle yourself at odd turns and even jump over yourself to avoid that eventual crash.
It's a game that starts off particularly relaxing, but as you get longer and longer and the level gets more full of you and your tail, the tension starts to rise, until you eventually crash. Just in time to start another lengthy bus again.
If you want to see what all the fuss is about, there are countless streams and recordings you can jump on and get a feel for it. If you want to just buy Snakeybus yourself, it's less than $10 on Steam right now and it's tearing up the charts. Grab a copy yourself, here.
