If you thought building a computer inside Minecraft was impressive, how about building a functional gameboy with a working version of Pokemon Red in it? That's quite apt really, since Redstone is what was used to make it possible, with an unimaginably complicated set of blocks, switches and and/or commands.
As you might expect there are still a number of elements that aren't quite perfect, namely NPCs, as well as stores and trainer battles, but creator MrSquishyYT has managed to build in an open world, multiple interior, indoor and underground areas to explore and wild encounters, so you can wander around and battle Pokemon, inside a gamebody, inside Minecraft.
That's some real gaming Inception.
The screen of the Gameboy is made up of moving wool blocks, which act as pixels, while all of the commands are controlled by an unimaginably complicated set of redstone blocks operating behind the scenes.
The next step is adding functional items, and the creator plans to take it all the way and finish the game one day - though he doesn't know how long that may take.
